All Verticals Concept - part 3

This is the next concept of my "All Verticals" series. So far, I have gone over what I know as the "Arizona" concept and the "Alabama" concept. This post will discuss the "Alaska" concept, which incorporates crossing routes into the All Verts concept package.

All Vert Concept 3: "Alaska"

"Alaska" is also almost exclusively run out of a 3x1 receiver set. On the 3 receiver side, the concept for the outside receiver (snag) and the slot receiver (bender") remain the same as "Arizona" and "Alabama", but the inside receiver/tight end runs a "under-over" route; going underneath the first linebacker inside of them, then over the next linebacker, ending on the opposite hash around 12-15 yards deep. On the single receiver side, the receiver runs a crossing route instead of a snag or a dig, going underneath the under-over route, ending up on the opposite side of the field at around 6-9 yards deep.

"Alaska" Concept

This route allows for the single receiver or the tight end to get open by crossing each other, creating a greater opportunity for miscommunication in the defense and a mix-up in their coverage.
